    Project Management Software

    Hey,

I am looking for a user friendly cross platform open source free project management program. I have found GanttProject which is OK, except for the fact that it doesnīt allow me to change the time clusters into weeks or months (default is days and I canīt change it and apparently it canīt be changed)... The other software Iīve explored is Open Workbench which is OK...

Any other things I havenīt seen_

Funny you should bring it up. I'm in a project management class right now, and my textbook is extremely Microsoft-centric. (My whole university is, but it grates on me to see authors who won't acknowledge any software other than Microsoft.) But it does mention the Project Management Center Web site as a resource for finding PM software. The PMC site recently highlighted dotProject as a good open-source PM program. It's all Web-based (PHP, I think), so it's entirely platform-agnostic. You can run your own copy on a local Web server, or use the one hosted on their Web site.

I haven't used it (since I don't know anything about PM yet) so I can't vouch for it, but it may be worth a look.

You might try TaskJuggler. I haven't used it, but I know about it because it's meant to be well integrated with FreeMind (which I do use a lot).

Not sure how cross-platform orientated it is, but FreeMind runs fine on Windows XP, so I think TJ should be similar.
