    i was just wondering.

    is anyone not usint ext3?

    why?

this is kind of a super nooB question, but i finally read a little about some of the different filesystems today. (i got a free suse enterprise server text book today)
ReiserFS, XFS, VxFS and so on..

Please compare and contrast for me.

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I'll throw my hat in anyway. I use whatever the distribution's default happens to be, whether it's ReiserFS, EXT2, EXT3, etc. I haven't noticed any practical difference between any of them for the desktop stuff I do.

    Ah, found it.

I don't mean to discourage the discussion, so please continue to elaborate on the other thread. I just prefer to keep the duplicate conversations to a minimum.
