Question What distro you like best for a server...

i'm starting a fileserver and hope to eventually use it as a webserver. It's my old desktop computer. It's 1.8 Ghz (i think) AMD, cannot remember how much RAM, two HDs each 40GB. i'm running Debian on it. It runs well and i like how things are going so far. i've used Suse; FC2, 3, 4; Debian and Kubuntu. i've learned that i lean much more toward Debian based distros.

So vote and tell me what you like to use as a server.

I recently upgraded my personal fileserver/webserver to Debian Etch. Very satisfied with it.

Yep, Debian, no doubt about it. Even Debian's Testing branch is generally more stable than most other so called "stable" distros.

It depends on what I am using the server for. I personally prefer RHEL (CentOS), but also have a web server running on FreeBSD.

I voted for Debian, and so far it looks like a Debian run away :P.
    That's my two pence worth.

Yep, CentOS for me too - no question. So I voted RedHat too.

SUSE has really worked great for me thus far. I work in an all Suse shop, as well.

BSD is good for a server... but Redhat is handy...
