    Advise for newbie to Linux

    Hello,
This is my first post in the boards. As someone who uses Windows XP MCE, I have to say that Windows sucks. All the constant updates, the pre-loaded BS on my Toshiba, etc. is enough to drive anyone insane. SO...

I am switching to Linux! Yay!

    Windows sucks.... literally.

Any advice for a newbie to Linux whose migrating from XP Professional?

Yeah. Use OpenSuse. Was my first Distro, and I loved it for its easiness.
It has an easy installation (hardest it got was partitioning, even that had 'default', lol) and its great to just get a Linux system up and running, and to start learning, then move onto something a bit different later, or even just stick with it if you like.

Hope it all works great for you.

Check the link in my signature for lots of information on getting started with Linux. After you've picked a distro, don't hesitate to post a new thread if you should run into any problems.
