Didn't Jono Bacon used to write for LinuxFormat too? That was a great magazine. I really enjoyed reading it for a couple of years but when I got broadband it just seemed pointless paying
- 03-21-2007 #23Yes, that's him! That's how I knew about him. He used to live in Wolverhampton (probably still does) and after he left uni he worked for Open Advantage in Birmingham. I was surprised to see how he's moved on ...

Haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to the Upstart feature being turned on by default and seeing what effect that has on things. (for info http://upstart.ubuntu.com/ )

Just as an update and general FYI, I was indeed able to order a free CD of Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" via Shipit today. Apparently they're printing discs for it even if it isn't an LTS release.

However I suspect it will come out today (the RC), as no daily build came out today (something must be up):

I've been of Feisty Fawn for a few weeks now and am impressed overall. I bought a new motherboard a month or so ago and ran into problems with my on-board sound (Nvidia HD audio). With Debian Etch and Suse 10.0 I was unable to get the sound to work. I installed the latest alsa components and kernel but to no avail. Many articles about my specific sound problem pointed to the Linux kernel as the solution. I was told to install a disto with the latest kernel compiled. I choose Ubuntu Feisty and sound worked on install. I am a little disappointed with the differences with Debian and Ubuntu but am overall pleased with the distro. I just love apt-get. Long live Synaptic.

Just a question:
If i download feisty now will i be able to just upgrade to the final version in a few weeks when it comes out or will i have to download the whole final version. It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.
