    Intrusion Detection System servey

    Hello all GNU/Linux users.

    I'm a student and I'm doing an research about Open Source Host Intrusion Detection Systems and usability.

    The work is almost done but I also want to do an quick survey online so I can compare it with my result.

    The paper is limited to open source intrusion detection systems.

    You're doing a survey about open source IDS's and you're not including Snort? How come?

    Well, the survey is limited to Host-IDS and not Network-IDS.

    One reason is that HIDS can detect some intrusion signs that NIDS can't.

    To cover both HIDS and NIDS takes to much time.
