    i've been in search of some good forum hosting... free forum hosting. i haven't found much that looks good.

    Hmm maybe Bravenet, Invision, or Proboards may work for you. Be prepared to face some ads though.

    i'm fine with having a couple of ads as long as their not absurd ones like Yahoo has on their hosted websites. Thanks for the help, i'll surely check them out.

    Have your heard about Forumotion?
    It's very easy to sign up, you simply need to provide the forum name, subdomain (what will appear in the URL), password, email address and the category of the forum. All of this takes around two minutes, after which you can choose the initial forum skin, then you are taken directly to your new forum.
