look up lock bumping, its a method of picking locks that doesnt require anything other than a filed down key and a hammer to slightly bump the lock with. I have watched videos of guys in Germany doing this.

For what reason I cannot now remember, I once took my house keys off the same ring my car keys were on. The next morning, in a hurry to get to work, I walked out of the house, locked it and got into the car to discover I only had the house key and no key for the ignition. In a huff, I jumped out to run back into the house to grab the car key, unthinkingly locking the house keys inside the car. The moment the car door closed I realised what a fine mess I'd got myself into. I said a curse word or two...

Don't feel too bad. My cousin once locked her keys inside her truck with it running and the stereo blasting.

My best friend in college was on the other side of campus at a drama function and she locked her keys in her car. She had a friend drive her to my apartment and pick me up. We then drove all the way back to her car on the other side of campus. She had her friend drop us both off and then leave immediately.

I stood there looking at her and she gestured to her car. "Okay, open it up." I continued to look at her, one eyebrow arching. "What?" she said.

I tried not to laugh, "You never gave me a spare key to your car." She hadn't told me why she was picking me up. We ended up calling triple A. I guess at least she had someone to kill time with while we waited.

Well... you'd have to either break into your house or your car. And if it comes down to it, windows are easier to replace on the house.

Long Ago......

Some years ago, I was at my friends 21st birthday, after which 4 of us(birthday boy included) went to London for the bike show at the alley pally.

First we where all late for the train and nobody had keys, though we did not know that at the time!

Second; have you ever tried running up the platform to catch an intercity 125? it was bags through the window and hands pulling you on the train

Third, this story would get to long if I told you about the weekend, surfice to say 3 days later, no money, no keys and we needed a beer on our return.

I have never lived down to this day the fact that I broke into my parents house, to get my emergency stash to go for a beer, hero to my mates, but for over 20 years I have suffered for it

all the best

Ian

Quite ridiculous really but a few months back I managed to lock myself between my front door and the second door of my house (about 1.5 metres apart) on my way out to work.

I'd forgotten my keys and pulled the second door in behind me. The front door is one of those that are locked with a key from the inside or out.

So there I was, stuck like a fool, I had to use my mobile phone to call my mum to come downstairs and let me back in.
