My Next computer is a Dell

I've been avoiding upgrading because of no suitable recycling program until I heard Dell will take back my old box when I upgrade to a Dell.
That's besides Dell's commitment to providing linux boxes.

In fact Dell will take back any Dell product. And greenpeace has awarded Dell as greenest of IT companies out there. There's even a refurbished/certified store at Dell's online store.

Yeah that's pretty cool of Dell, they've been doing it for a few years now. It's a bit different in the EU though the last year or two, now any electronics distributor has to commit to take back any old electronics when providing new ones. So if you buy a new Dell, they have to take back your old Gateway. There is a minor tax here on all electronics (WEEE) now ranging from about 50c to €3 to cover future disposal and recycling of parts.

What I find especially significant is the way Dell has integrated this recycling program of their products into their store inventory, certification and production. It means if I own any Dell, it always has 'value' or usability through their program.
