Anyway, for my opinion I prefer Gnome. Which is weird because when I first started using Linux I use to be a die-hard KDE fan and think how can people possibly prefer Gnome to KDE. Go figure. I guess I like it because it's a bit more clean than KDE, where as KDE has more eye-candy. It takes a bit more to get Gnome configured the way you like it though, making it nice and customizable.Last edited by oz; 04-13-2007 at 09:33 PM. Reason: removed inappropriate remark

GNOME, I would rather have limited customization abilities than tons of useless crap with KDE.

How long until this thing gets locked?
The guy is specifically asking for help with a homework. Although, it is a survey and I believe that the questions are legitimate...
I like Gnome but I am also comfortable with KDE. My favorite apps include:
OOo
Gnumeric
Firefox / Thunderbird
Synaptic
Firestarter
Dia
The Gimp
Ganttproject
Inkscape
VIM
Ascend
Take it easy! Good luck with your survey!

I agree. It's for his homework but no one is providing answers, just data for his study.
And I use KDE. I like it so far but to be honost, I'm relatively new to Linux and haven't spend much time in GNOME.
