    Lightbulb important Suggestion

    Hello

I have a Suggestion that I hope that find acceptable.

We " Linux Users " always Facing difficulty with drivers of Hardware

Most Drivers working only for Windows OS , Why?

    For example :

When we buying modem , printer , web cam or Network Adapter ... etc

we Pay money so we have right to get drivers for Linux OS that we love it

My Suggestion is writing Message contain the signatures of Linux Users for companies manufactured to provide drivers for Linux OS.

    companies list:

    Intel , Canon , Hp , U.S Robotics , Agere systems , Phoenix , AMD , Creative Labs , 3COM , Sony , Dell , Toshiba , Acer , ASUS , IBM , D-Link Systems Motorola , PC Tel , SiS Corporation , VIA Technologies , MSI , Giga-Byte Technology , American Megatrends , LG Electronics , Samsung , RealTek , NETGEAR , Linksys , Epson , Yamaha , SigmaTel , Fujitsu , Genius , NEC.

    Post suggestions please!

    thanks for all

    Special thanks for techieMoe

Until there is a marketable (to read, profitable) reason for companies to provide drivers for all the different OSs people use, it isn't going to happen.

If I read you correctly, you're basically proposing an online petition be signed and sent to the companies listed. Although your heart is in the right place, you should know that online petitions rarely ever make any kind of impact, much less sway the opinions of a major corporation.

As was already suggested, most companies exist for one purpose above all: to make money. With the current computer market the way it is, they stand to make the most money by supporting the operating system that exists in greatest abundance. At around 90% of the world, right now that means Microsoft Windows.

If instead of a petition you were suggesting something like an informational campaign that stressed only purchasing products that were friendly to (or at least not at odds with) the Linux operating system, you might have a better result. If more people were informed and voted with their wallets, I believe more companies would be likely to take notice.

...about the only thing companies seem to understand... (it is definitely the method of action that is likely to bring the quickest result)

This is a much better idea - make a "blacklist" of hardware that doesn't play well in linux and pass that around and get people to agree to not buy anything from the list.
