Need an OS
I'm completely new to Linux and would really like to try it out, i have a computer that is formatted and ready for an os what i would like is something that i can learn linux with and wean my self off windows! Any suggestions

Take a look at the link in my signature for lots of information on getting started with Linux. You can search for different distributions at http://www.distrowatch.com
Once you've picked a distribution or two to experiment with, don't hesitate to start a new thread should you have any problems.
