    Talking Boy what a ride!

    I have been playing with linux for about a month. I have had a ton of things go wrong! I initially had a bad ide cable and couldn't get anything installed. figured that out then Installed Mandriva 2006. I screwed that distro up so I decided to try different ones. I have been through Mandriva 2007, Kubuntu, Fedora 6, Debian, openSuse 10.0 and 10.2. I left each one for different reasons and curiosity keeps me looking. I am installing Ubuntu 6.1 now. We'll see how this does!

    Anyway, this is fun. My wife thinks I am crazy!

    Welcome to the wondermous world of Linux, and btw, you ARE crazy, it's just that now you have an outlet to focus on! =-}

    EDIT: Just for poops and giggles, I'd like to know what you did/didn't like about each Distro.

    Screwups and decisions

    SuSe 10.0 - Lost the mobo and harddrive so I had to rebuild anyway.

    Then bad ide cable. I tried Fedora 6.1, kubuntu, ubuntu and the only thing that worked was Mandriva 2006. I crashed it from my own stupidity.

    The SuSe 10.2 Couldn't get wireless working.

    Mandriva 2007. Wireless was a snap. Seemed clean and snappy.......then my curiosity got the best of me and I crashed it too! I was trying to fix a buggy audio driver.

    Fedora 6 Wireless problems

    Ubuntu 6.1 Wireless problems and I just didn,t care about it.

    Now I am back to Suse 10.2. I liked it the best and I will get the wireless running!
