Here are my responses
2) No one said FOSS had no bugs.
3-4) Not FOSS's fault.
5) Not true, the Novell agreement does not do that.
6) FUD. The GPL = Communism meme is by show wrong 1,000,000,000 times
7) There are plenty of people making money on FOSS>
I never have heard the claim about Debian about aptitude.
10) Eye candy doesn't have to be useless. It can help users (it doen't always). People want it anyway.
skipping a few
17) So much ********, I won't even start telling what is wrong with it.

Not sure if it's just me but the more I read the more I got the impression that this person's attitude is like that of a big child shouting at the younger kids "these are all MY toys so why don't you go away and play with your own and leave me alone"
Point number 17 (The Debian kindergarten) sounded particularly noob-hater esq.
I actually experienced people like this in the late 90s in IRC chatrooms but I assumed most had become less insular by now

Even though I don't agree with some of his points, I think others are quite valid, even if it's like you said:
I specially disagree with his view of Debian and the GPL. However, the whole Dunc-Tanc and Dunc-Banc issue is true. If you want to prove that paying someone is not going to help, why not work even harder to get the distribution release before it's due so you can say "hey, look, we don't need your stupid money" instead of deliberately sabotaging the effort and saying "hey, look, you didn't do it after all".these are all MY toys so why don't you go away and play with your own and leave me alone
However, I do agree with the whole 3D desktop thing, there's so many other, more important projects that need help.
I didn't say this on my initial post, so I'll say it here, the article is an editorial, so read it for what it is, this guy's opinion. Obviously you'll agree with some and disagree with others. Nonetheless, the article is still interesting exactly becaus it covers all, or most, bases!"Today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!" --Bad Religion

It's a rant. I should know.
Taking it like that, I think he presents some points well and I agree with them. He also presents some other points well but I still disagree with his stance. He presents yet other points abysmally, but hey, an opinion is just that. It was an interesting read.
