Probably a wise decision considering how popular Ubuntu has become.

Huh. I guess most of our predictions were off. I didn't know Canonical could offer that level of support, but I'm sure happy for them.

See, that's what I was thinking about too. They either made a huge deal with Dell where they will provide the software support, or Dell is going to have to provide it themselves.

They outsource everything so I'm sure Dell won't have to worry about support. I had a feeling Ubuntu would make it, just because it's the cat's meow right now.
    I praise Webmin and PuTTy!

I can't say I'm surprised. I just hope this expands the number of open-source (or at least officially-supported) drivers out there for Dell's hardware.

All my Dells run Linux very well. My most recent purchase, an "N Series" E520 and Ubuntu Edgy is a Linux marriage made in heaven...

Dell and Ubuntu should be a very satisfactory combination.

Really? I was never satisfied with Dell's products. I'm just hoping this will get more OEM's looking to Linux which will in turn get more drivers going.
