    Is anyone excited about the up & coming KDE4? I'm a gnome user (in Ununtu) but I must say that I'm really looking forward to see what KDE 4 will look like.

    I can't say that I'm really excited about it, but I will eventually try it.

    Generally speaking, I stick with one of the lighterweight WMs. However, I've switched back and forth between KDE and Gnome many times, and like certain aspects of both DEs. They've both made lots of improvements with each new release, and they feel much faster on the desktop than they did just a few years back.

    * new look through Oxygen.
    * new packages with improved hardware and multimedia integration, e.g. new file manager, Dolphin and the document viewer Okular.

    that's cause you've been buying faster computers
    Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
    Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
    Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?

    I'm excited to see it. I use Gnome for the most part, but at work unless its runlevel 3, the servers run KDE.

    Thumbs up Yes! Yes! New KDE!

    I'm constantly wetting my pants with excitement.
    I already love KDE more than a healthy amount, but just the idea of SVG for everything makes me nearly pass out.

    Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I do think KDE4 is the most exciting thing happening this year. If anyone knows of a LiveCD distro that shows off the current state of development, I'd love to take it for a spin.

    I'll definitely check it out, probably on a live CD like Zelmo.
    I'm trying out different desktop environments and window managers lately, seeing what I like and experimenting. Right now I'm using Xfce4, and I like it on my old Desktop computer.
