    hey all

hey everybody, my user name isn't necessarily new but I'm just coming back to the Linux forums and am here to stay.

I am interested in getting into programming for the open source community and am wondering where you guys think is a good place to start for a newbie like me. I have some experience in programming from high school and I am just starting my education toward a CS degree. I'm looking to get serious in programming with Ruby. That sound like a good idea? I also want to do some site work so I figured that Ruby would be a good language to start using and getting used to.
