    Yeah I always wondered about that. I was under the impression that defribrillation was to stabilise the heartbeat by stopping and starting it (rebooting ). But those pads make their way to every scene in any medical drama you watch.

    Is that correct? Are they just for stabilising?

    yeah and they have a pretty poor %age of people saved, except on medical things they nearly always work..
