Got them both just a moment ago. I really liked them... What I didn't know was that Boys are Back In Town is theirs... I mean, wow... What I didn't quite understand is why is it considered a heavy metal band...
Bigtomrodney,
Awesome video! Now I want to have a haircut like that...

I was always fascinated by the first Lizzy album, when Eric Bell was the guitarist. It's so different from the later stuff.

Have any of you heard the original folk version of "Whisky in the Jar"? This is the folk version (played more recently) as performed by the Dubliners.
Even as a Dub myself I didn't know until I was about 15 that it wasn't a Thin Lizzy song.

I grew up listening to that song. Bear in mind that I'm now 42, and I knew it when I was 4-5 years old. My dad used to sing it while he was shaving and he taught it to me ... He's not Irish, but he must have picked the song up from somewhere (where though?) I get a strange thrill wherever I hear the Thin Lizzy version. I'm not fussed about Metallica's rendition, even though it's pretty good.

Yeah The Dubliners are good craic. "Whiskey In the Jar" and "Seven Drunken Nights" would be my two favourite drinking songs. Anyway! Back to the rock!
