Ok, i want linux, i'm usin ubuntu studio and i like it, just not as much as i'd hope i would...plus its way too big to put on a CD ...

    Which Linux should i use?

    Ok, i want linux, i'm usin ubuntu studio and i like it, just not as much as i'd hope i would...plus its way too big to put on a CD NOT a DVD.. so i was lookin at gentoo, but i wanna ask you guys

    What (in your opinion) is the best Linux Dist. for use of "The Gimp" and playin games?
    &&& where can i get it at (a good download) ive downloaded so many that didnt work, i dont wanna spend a half hour to an hour lookin at my screen and have it not work.. please let me know

    Distro choice differs from person to person. So you will get alot of opions here that wont help you make a choice. try ubuntu regular version since you are familiar with it already and load automatix for it. but someone soon shall post the beginners guide to distro choice.

    ya i tried the regular version of ubuntu, i diddnt like it at all, nothin work for me..sound, video, printer, i couldnt even connect 2 the internet with it. thats y i upgraded to ubuntu studio and the ONLY reason. im just lookin for a new version of linux that will work

    and im check out thos distro's now...
    vector = set up way too much like windows (im tryin to get away from windows. far far away!)
    DSL isnt really what im lookin for eitehr srry
    already tried puppy b4 ubunto
    & i mite try that zen walk if i dont see anything els

    I think few people use it since they made an installer for it, it took away the leetness of it.

    I'm using mandriva spring at the moment and i think its fantastic, gimp works well on it too. It also detected all my hardware and internet instantly without even having to notify me.

    sneeker your problems you speak of may not have had anything to do with the distro you use but what didnt work. Probably would have been better to post about them. For starters make it know what specs were on the system you were trying to install and what printer you were trying to connect to.
