    Pictures I took with my new Digital Camera

    I have had cheap ones but I have never taken very serious pictures with a digital camera. That is until my wife and I bought our new digital. Its a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 7.2 mega pixel. it takes really good pictures. Here is my flickr link Flickr: Photos from carlos_ponti of the pictures i took at the Air show from this last weekend.

    Looks like you got a pretty good camera. The photo of the "Extra 300" shows nice bright colour contrast between the red and blue of the plane's stripes.

    I was really impressed with this camera. It has Leica optics. has some neat on board features. It is easy to use in Linux, Ubuntu recognizes the card it has and is easy to get the photos off all on a USB port.

    Very nice photos. 1 quick question, do you take your photos at 7.2 Mp or lower?

    I only have a 4mp camera but I permanently leave it set at 2mp as I find the file-sizes too large at 4mp and I find the 2mp quality to be good enough.

    just took them at 7.2 i bought a 2gb SD card from Newegg. the files are around 2 mb in size. i could probably set them for 5 mp but its initially set for the full 7.2.

    ImageMagick is your friend. For ubuntu just type

    I didnt shrink them Flickr did on my images. I need to check out imagemagik sometime. I use gimp for most images.

    I do the same thing. Also I am to cheap to buy additional cards so I can take more pics.
