XMacro should be preinstalled in all Live-CD/DVD distros, seriously

Lately, I've been looking for a Live-CD/DVD distro with XMacro. I haven't found a single one. I'm really surprised by this, because XMacro allows a person to quickly reconfigure settings by running a script, which could come from a jumpdrive, floppy, or other storage medium.

Instead, a person has to use the Internet, download it, and install it. Otherwise, the person has to have it on a storage medium and install it from there. However, it would be so much easier if XMacro was already added into each distroy. A person could simply access the storage medium, click his or her preconfigued macro, walk away, and have all of the configurations setup again. This enables Live distros to be more powerful. No longer would a person have to constantly reconfigure things.

Also, it would be useful for using programs already added into distros.

So, what do all of you think? Should XMacro be added into all Live distros?

No, I don't think that any application should be put in all live distros just because one person likes it, or even if lots of people liked it. I'd like to see live distros be different from one another. Just my opinion, though.

I'm not sure wether this is close to what you mean but I think slax 6 would go into that similar direction. I read from the website you in the 6 release you would be able customize your own iso on the website and download the customized slax.

And it also once have a setting repository, where user can reload their configurations online, without bothering loading it from removeable media or something. I don't know why tomaz removed this facility.

I personally like the idea of having macros. I grew up with Windows 3.1 when there was already a macro creation tool inside. Macro recorders are often superb when setting up configuration on a computer over and over. For example, if I'm using a Windows computer with the same OS, and that computer has an image on it--thus not allow it to be corrupted as much--then I'll start with the essentials each time I boot.

However, if I run a pre-configured macro on it, then I can have it change the desktop, install programs from a DVD, change the theme, the Internet, create a server, and so forth. I find macros to be very powerful tools when starting from the bare essentials over and over again.
