    I'm a bit confused by what you mean by "GUI knowledge." Do you mean just knowledge of how to interact with the system?

    Also, the two are completely different concepts that really can't be directly compared. I have programming knowledge and that's useful to me, but knowledge of how to use the system is also. For some people programming knowledge is not important at all. I just don't understand what you're asking.
