What the... I never said a damn thing about Novell. I was on about Windows. And I know they're different... oh sod it.

Can I ask what was so good about reiserFS anyway?

At the time it was introduced it was the only FS that provided block journaling, it was the first to do automatic defragmentation....and the best feature IMHO is that I don't have to bother abt putting a large number of files in a single directory....I can resize it without unmounting etc......

it's really a great file system...moving away from traditional unix/minix inode oriented file system ...reiserFS provides whole new features and concepts...
