So, there is this version of Linux called "Scientific Linux." Now, I don't like its name. I think the OS could be more scientificy. So, I was thinking of programs and choices that could make it so.
However, I was wondering if it would be infringing if I named my new operating system "Scientific Linux."
Can a person give an OS the same name with Linux? I don't know about the laws and everything with Linux these days.
Nah, I'm just kidding.
All of that was to set you up for something.
What do you think of the Asian-type Linux versions that are similar to other versions:
Take these for example:
1)
Asianux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Looks like Windows from a distance
2)
Red Flag Linux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmm, wasn't Red Hat discontinued?
So, what do you think of these copycat things?
I can only give them kudos, though. They were brilliant enough to understand that making the operating system like Windows actually eases users into Linux. Going from Windows to Linux involves some culture shock, and those developers were aware of this.
