    SuSE (SLES) works and is adviced by IBM. It is known to run on production machines. I've seen debian/390 pages on the web, but I've never heard of a machine acutally running debian on a mainframe.

    Would be very interesting .....

    Try Open Suse 10.2

    Open Suse 10.2 may work fine on your machine
