hello
i would like to start using some version of Linux . I have a small recording studio and would welcome suggestions for a suitable linux distro for this use . I am not that familiar with the technical side of o/s's so a fairly intuitive distro would be needed .
My specs are AMD 4200+ dual
2 sata h'ds
1 sata II h'd
asrock dual sata 939 mobo
radeon (sapphire ) x1650 pro (512mb) gpu
2 gb 3200 ram ddr
thanx in advance

Hello and welcome. Distro advice is a tough one, as one person's 'intuitive' is another's 'bloody confusing'. Agnula used to be a good distro for recording stuff, but the project's been suspended. Still, try following the links from this page: The AGNULA project

Beyond that I'll let other people comment.

You can customise pretty much any Linux distro to do what you need, but there is actually a cool distro based around music production -
Originally it was Agnula but this has now moved to The Debian Multimedia Peoject
EDIT - You beat me to it Fingal

There's a Linux User's Group (LUG) in Norwich. Not sure how active it is, but you might want to try that. Here's a link.
I used to visit Norwich a fair bit: especially Wymondham.
