Any bad experiences with this webhosting...

Just curious if anyone has had any problems or any success with these web hosting companies... I've read a few reviews but figured I know that feedback here would probably be better then from random people.

Has anyone used HostGator or LunarPages?

Lunar pages has an amazing sounding deal for just basic membership... I don't know how this is possible at their price. they claim to offer 3500GB Bandwidth/month for $7. That's just one thing i found odd.

What do you guys think of these services?

I use Dreamhost. I got some mental offer form them, 2TB of transfer and 200GB of storage for about $23 per year. It's shared hosting so you don't obviously have a dedicated server to yourself. The one caveat they mention is that your speed seems to be throttled. It's not a problem really but I don't think you could ever get near the 2TB of transfer.

There are also limits on CPU usage so if you have heavy apps or your site was slashdotted your account may be temporarily suspended. That's pretty standard until you fork out for the big packages.

Hostmonster seems to have gotten a lot of rave reviews all over the internet. They only offer one package to all but it's 300GB + 3TB bandwidth for $5.95/month

They also offer free domain name too.

Thanks for the info guys... It's so hard to find something on this because if you do a search for good hosting or anything like that it brings up sales pages!
