I guess i'm a newbie
I have installed a few flavours of linux before, debian, fedora, suse and ubuntu. I used them lightly for internet stuff but as i have a few systems set up i tended to revert to using windows rather than getting into actually figuring out how to work linux completely. So today i have just installed Ubuntu again and i will endevour to stick with it, i'm sure i am going to come up against stuff that makes me feel a little less savy than i like to think i am. But i will persist and i hope to learn a lot here i look forward to the support and look forward to when i can help others who are begining.
Thanks for reading.

Hi xedx,
Welcome to the forums.
There is nothing wrong with using a dual boot system, a lot of folks do this for many reasons including, Windows support for all the great games.
Now that you have found the forums, you aren't alone. Next time you feel lost or confused, just post back here and I am sure there will be someone to help you with whatever problem you may have.
Good luck!I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

I never got on too well with dual booting, and having a couple of work stations at hand meant there was never any real need for me to do it. I would like to get comfortable enough with linux to begin using it as a server and then i would probably want to have dual boot options on the machine that isn't the server.
Thank you very much for the welcome, its day one of my install and i already ran into a couple of problems but people here are very helpful.
