oz, as I said in my now deleted thread, I'm tempted to nuke and pave Mint and get back to this nitro burning distro. I may install it to a separate drive and tinker with it when I can find some spare time which I seem to have less of every day. :)

Got it. Took less than three minutes to download.
Argh... I just went over and took a look at the downloads and it appears that they failed to create a 64-bit version once again, but perhaps I didn't look close enough and missed it. I do believe 64-bit processors are here to stay for at least a while so wish they would provide 32-bit and 64-bit options on their downloads page.
To my understanding, CRUX will be all 64 bit after 2.8. 64 has got to be available somewhere on this release. I'll dig around.

I might play around with it a bit this coming weekend. If I install CRUX again, mine will be a minimal openbox only setup with just those added packages that I want, or need, because I hate those long compile times for some of the full-blown DEs.
Minimal is the way to go! I'll have OpenBox of course but will also install my old standby, IceWM. My command line skills have gone to hell since I switched to Mint. ;)
I'm guessing you must have downloaded the 32-bit version because it took me nearly 30 minutes to download the 64-bit version due to that particular server being so slow. It could be because so many people are rushing to download 64-bit CRUX, but somehow I doubt that was the case. :)Quote:
