Been a bit of a plinker of Linux for a bit. No master of it in any stretch of the imagination, but I can install and run the basics. Well, that's all I really need anyway.
But maybe someone can send me in a direction to do a bit of research.
I recently got ahold of an Lenovo ThinkCentre with some decent specs.
i7 3.4 quadcore 2600 series.
Onboard Intel graphics.
ATI Radeon 5450 graphics card 512mem.
Realtek audio(sounds good).
4 gig ram that I'm going to bump to 8 when the order comes in.
500 gig hrdrv.
And it's still new enuff to have most of the 3 year warranty.
Manufacture date of Aug last year.
Part of a special order that got cancelled and got it from an IBM distributor for half price.
2 things. I have read in places Linux has a problem with ATI cards and with specs this new is there a distro that can handle this?
I have a slow dsl internet so dwnlding a distro can be a bit of a pain.
I'm not asking for someone to give me a definite use this distro but some ideas of a distro to look over.
Have a nice computing day.
