Post your uptime! (2013)
Hi everyone !
For long your machine is running non-stop? :)
If you want to post your uptime to compare it with some other users, here's your chance. Just run the command uptime from a terminal.
09:27:03 up 2 days, 11:02, 2 users, load average: 0.08, 0.15, 0.13
Last year's thread
10:01AM up 2 days, 13:58, 2 users, load averages: 0.22, 0.19, 0.12
Times and machines vary considerably with experimentation. Currently:
Uptimes for available machines:
up 30 days, 22 users: Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.8 (lenny) on AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
up 30 days, 1 user, load average: 0.06, 0.02, 0.00on Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz
up 30 days, 5 users: Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 (squeeze) on Pentium III (Coppermine)
up 29 days, 5 users: CentOS release 6.2 (Final)on Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz
up 29 days, 3 users:on Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz
up 29 days, 3 users: Debian GNU/Linux wheezy/sid on Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz
up 29 days, 6 users: Fedora release 15 (Lovelock)on Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz
22:38:26 up 103 days, 3:20, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00
05:51:44 up 120 days, 20:33, 12 users, load average: 7.34, 6.05, 5.50
First I was thinking that since we've basically only got laptops around our house, uptime will never be stellar, even though the machines are rarely rebooted. (The only stationary PC we have is so seldom used that it is kept switched off most of the time.)
As a matter of fact I had to reboot my Thinkpad last night due to USB issues, but looking at its uptime it appears to have been running all night through:
08:02:16 up 7:41, 4 users, load average: 0.12, 0.21, 0.14
So I suppose with a machine that is frequently suspended/hibernated the uptime result is a bit of a cheat, as it seems to include the time the machine was actually not running, and not indicate the amount of time it was actually up.
awww.... you just started this thread a few days too late. I had to reboot 1 of my servers due to a kernel update....
Now it is 2 days, but just before the reboot it was 199d 18h
I install, reinstall, reboot, and experiment far too much of the time to ever build up any long uptimes, although I do get up to around 14 hours at times.
07:04:24 up 7 min, 1 user, load average: 0.21, 0.21, 0.14
Feliz Aņo Nuevo a Todos
10:01:38 up 320 days, 20:45, 2 users, load average: 1.00, 1.00, 1.00
Happy New Year
20:55:29 up 15 days, 13:37, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.05
