Yeah... there may be a few recommendations in here!
It seemed to me that Nick Nolte and Tom Hardy did incredible jobs with their respective roles, and of course Nolte was Oscar nominated for "Best Supporting Actor" for his work in the movie.
Sounds like a winner. While I'm no huge follower of him, I do like Nick Nolte as an actor.
Just finished watching The Dark Knight Rises:
The Dark Knight Rises (2012) - IMDb
It was good, but after all the hype it received from theater viewers, I was expecting more and ended up feeling a little disappointed. Still, it was good enough that I'd recommend it to others.
Empire of the Sun came out on blu-ray last month, so I watched it again this evening:
Empire of the Sun (1987) - IMDb
I'd forgotten what a great performance Christian Bale gave in the movie, being only 12 years old at the time.
I know i have a copy of Empire of the Sun but I could not find it but I ran across " Bullet " with Mickey Rourke and
watched that because I could not remember what the movie was about. After i watched it I remembered how sad
movies about hard drug use can be.
Rourke sure has changed a lot in appearance over the years. He's almost not recognizable when you compare early photos to current ones.
Oh, and although it was only a minor role, he did a great job in "The Expendables" with Sly Stalone!
