Hiya,

Looking at the licensing issues for the content that people will enter into the Wiki, there are some licences Here, but what do people generally feel appropriate? Do you guys want to go with one of the creativecommons licences, another license, or a custom written license?

I think that the Attribution-ShareAlike License looks good, This isnt the result of much reaserch, i just saw it on the link you posted, then stumbled across it in a book that i was reading, so it looks good enough for me!

I think the creative commons licence is ideal for this kind of work. it is quite a basic - "you can copy/modify it providing you give us due credit" the creative commons licence can also include _not_ allowing commercial reselling of the information, this is something I think should be included as who knows.. we may want to produce a book :)

wow, that would be, sadly, kinda cool, but the other part i like of the creative commons liscense is the requirment that it stays open, we can use a liscens that alows others to put our content on their site or w/e but they have to keep it open, makes happy.

Well, the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/) looks even better

I like CC's licenses, they got 3 nice formats "Human-Readable Commons Deed", "Lawyer-Readable Legal Code" and "Machine-Readable Digital Code" easy to understand

I thinki it's easiest (and safest -thining of the lawyer readble text) to use an existing license, anbd the CC's licenses are easy to understand and do what we want it to - provide a simple way of tailoring a license fitting our needs

So, if you missed it, i vote/suggest for the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License.
