[SOLVED] Login Failure With Firefox
Using Firefox 3.5.8 in Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit.
Tried it 5 times after which it blocks me out for 15 minutes.
Tried clearing cookies after the 2nd attempt. Still didn't help.
I hate intermittent problems. They are the worst problem to find.

Same thing happened to me a little earlier.
Firefox 3.6.3 on a Mac (at work right now).
Something I've noticed, though... I usually have no issues at all on my Linux box, where I'm running things like Ad-Block and the Extension Hider.
Here, on the work computer, I have no add-ons installed and have the occasional issue logging into the Forums.Jay

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
Did either of you happen to notice anything in the browser status bar during these failed login attempts? There have been some thoughts that one or more of the ads or the ad server itself might be causing these intermittent issues.oz

Hi Ozar,
The first time I tried logging in the browser bar was slow to load the site.
The next 4 times the login failure page loaded fast.
Forgot to mention that I have no ad-block or other filter plugins installed.
Many times I do have problems just accessing the forums without logging in due to the ad servers running extremely slow. When I had this latest login problem there were no slowness issues.
Hope this helps.

Yes, it does... thanks for posting back with the additional info!
* For anyone else that might encounter the login issue, please give us the following information to help in solving the problem:
OS / distribution / version
Web browser used, and version
Are you running any ad-blocking software?
Did the login page appear to hang when you tried to login, or did it simply reject your information when inputted?
Did any messages appear in the browser status bar during the failed attempts to login?
Please post any error messages that you received during your failed login attempt.
Thank you.

Like I say, no issues when running Linux, Firefox 3.6 with above mentioned add-ons.
I only have a problem with the following mix:
Mac OS X 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard)
Firefox 3.6.3
Also Safari 4.0.4
Neither browser has any add-ons installed.
Page loads up nice and quick, try to login by manually entering credentials, automatically rejected.
I never really notice any delays in the status bar while loading.Jay
