Lightbulb Where to post new project ideas?

I had a crazy thought a little while ago and I don't know if anyone is already developing something like it. It's an idea for a new Linux file system. I would love to develop this myself, but I'm just a humble W3C-conforming web designer and not really suited to the task.

What I'd like to know is:
  • Where is the best place to suggest new ideas to the Linux programming community (should i post it here in this forum)?
  • Also, where can I find a list of all major new Linux projects under development?

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks for reading.

sourceforge.net is what comes on mind first of all. On the other hand, file system development is not new and rather complex task, and needs more efforts than just a will to develop one. Good luck!

freshmeat.net is another good place; I post all of my projects there.

Thumbs up Cheers

Thanks guys, can't believe I didn't think of those sites before. I get my best software from SourceForge.

Oh well, thanks again. Now if I can just get Kubuntu to install on my laptop... better save that one for a different forum.
