Smile unmounted drives

Hello,
I have been using computers of various descriptions since 1984. Linux is a new adventure for me. I use XP and Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 Etch on a Pentium 4 PC with 1 GB RAM.
I presently have XP on my C drive, and Linux on my E drive. The C & D drives are NTFS. When in Linux, I can see the 2 drives, but they are unmounted. Does Linux not read NTFS files? How do I read my years of files in Linux?
If this is impossible, I don't think that I will be spending any time using Linux. I want to eventually be a total Linux convert. I already started by using Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird and Open Office under Winblows XP.
Any help will be appreciated

Welcome to the forums, Joe!

Yes, you can read/write to NTFS under Linux. Check this out:

NTFS-3G: Stable Read/Write NTFS Driver

Let us know if you have any other questions.
