Can't connect to wireless with WPC11

I got a thinkpad 770ed which I am planning on turning into a digital picture frame. Using the debian netinstall cd I was able to install it perfectly and of course it was able to connect to the internet. Now that it is installed on my system a little message pops up in the middle of whatever I am doing:

eth0: invalid skb->cb magic (0x00000000, expected 0xf00a36a2)

Apparently this is telling me that I cannot connect to my wlan because I cannot reach anything. So anyone know what could be wrong? I have made no other changes to anything network relates. Also why is it able to connect during setup but when it is setup it no longer works?

Does it matter that my wifi0 is being renamed to eth0?

For now there is no encryption on the router.
