Reviewing portable mp3 players linux compatibiity

Hi,
i want to by the right mp3 player for compatibility with linux,
but because of ambiguity of term its hard to find information for
that.

I want to by a portable mp3 player with USB connection to my computer,
kind of USB stick or iPod.

Can anyone give me a clue where to get compatibility information for linux?

Thanx

Well, if you use an mp3 player that is recognized like a storage media like usb-stick...you shouldn`t encounter any problems.

I use a Creative ZEN with gnomad2, you can check my site for a guide if you like..Ipods do well too, you have gtkpod and gnupod, it even works with amarok with most models...
