| Mail server problems Hi,
I have pained over this mail server problem of mine for a while now, and I still can't figure it out.
I have Virtualmin installed on my server specifically to handle these configurations that I know nothing about, leaving me free to handle just my webdev stack etc. Unfortunately Im still stuck.
My setup is Debian Etch, with Postfix and Dovecot on dedicated hosting with a static ip, and two domains pointing to the same box.
When I try and send email to an address, from certain addresses I get back the "No Such User Here" error response. Others the mail goes through.
I can never receive mail though. It never finds any mail waiting for me. The mail that is sent does seem to find it's way into the Postfix mail queue, but from there I dont know where it goes, because it doesnt end up in my Maildir.
I checked the /var/log/mail.log and see these warnings:
warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf and /etc/resolv.conf differ
warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts and /etc/hosts differ
Im not sure if that is the problem.
/var/log/mail.err shows this:
Renamed bogus "/var/mail/mm.mydomain" into "/var/mail/BOGUS.mm.mydomain.ROQ5"
So, Im not sure if my DNS is the problem or what is wrong. Pingability.com does not report any problems.
Im sorry for being pretty useless, I am at a loss though and appreciate any help.
Thanks |
