Hi,

My PC has only one IDE connector, and I already have 2 hard drives connected to it.

How do I install XP as guest without a cd-rom?

I do not have a USB cd-rom either.

Can I copy the files to a USB memory stick and install it that way? Or create an iso put it on the memory stick and install it?

I tried both, but the Virtual box did not see these as valid boot media.

Or can I try from network? How do I do it?

I have latest virtual box (3.010) + debian etch.

Any other ideas?

ISO files will mount just fine in VirtualBox, so if yours didn't it's a problem with the way our ISO was created more than likely. What did you use to create the image?

Also, have you considered daisy-chaining your harddrives so they only use one IDE slot? Does your motherboard have SATA plugs as well?

Yes, thank you for confirmation that VirtualBox is working fine with iso files.

I have deleted the old iso and created a new one.

Now it is working
