If you get the error message on installing that kernel headers aren't available, how do you go about sorting it?

Are the kernel headers contained within the kernel package or are they generated when the kernel is compiled?

You will be looking for a package called either 'linux-headers' and/or 'linux26-headers'. That is more than likely to what it is referring. If not, then it means the kernel source tree.

you will need to do something like this

 apt-get install kernel-headers-2.x....

for whatever kernel you have
