Ubuntu nvidia resolution
Hi again,
Just installed the nvidia driver
So its looks like its installed... th nvidia settings is working as well...Code:root@ubuntu-nago:/root# glxinfo | grep direct direct rendering: Yes
I have a problem tho my resolution in at 1280x1024... My monitor is optimized to 1400x1050...
If I use the "resolution setting", and set it to that resolution, the computer gets totaly screwed I get like 2 display on top of each other I cant see a thing...
Tell me what info you need...

Still having some issues...
Im trying to compile the binary driver from Nvidia, but it always pops up that I dont have the precompiled kernel version....
Damn I've installed the "linux tree" from ubuntu matching my kernel source, Ive made sure I made the link "ln -s" but it still doesnt see it...
Anyone has a clue?\"Meditative mind\'s is like a vast ocean... whatever strikes the surface, the bottom stays calm\" - Dalai Lama

10-12-2005 #4If you say "No" when it asks if you want to download a precompiled version, it should try and compile one for you. You'll need to have X Windows disabled and make sure you have the kernel source and gcc installed.

10-12-2005 #6I've never found a precompiled binary for any of the Linux distributions I've tried in recent years. I don't know why they even bother with that screen anymore, personally.
