    Arrow Screen Resolution Problem

    Hi,
    My screen resolution is 640x480...
I cannot set my screen resolution at 800x600 or 1024x768
My windows system is working perfectly with 1024x768 screen resolution

I have Googled about my this problem, but not yet solved

I have pasted here the xorg.conf file and "lspci" command output for help.

The Xorg.conf output is as it given below :
    Code:
    # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Try "vesa" Driver instead of "ati" in xorg.conf file.
    Code:
    gksu gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Edit this section
    Code:
    Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Technologies Inc RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200]"
        Driver "vesa"
        BusID "PCI:1:5:0"
    EndSection
    Reboot machine.

In case it doesn't work, install ATI Driver.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
