    Clean Shutdowns

    Hi Folks

    Me again

When I go to "Log Out" I only have "End Current Session" or "Cancel". I would like the two options of "Reboot" and "Shutdown" if possible. I've had them before on a previous system but can't find the right bit to tinker with....

    TIA

In your KDE Control Center, under KDE Components -> Session Manager, there's a checkbox near the top that says "Offer Shutdown Options." Is that checked?

    Yes, it is.

As a test I unchecked and rechecked it, applying each time.

I also changed the option on that screen to "turn off computer" from "end current session"

Going to the "End Session" box returns me to the login screen

Which Login Manager are you using?
    Execute this
    Code:
    su
    dpkg-reconfigure kdm
    Select kdm and reboot machine.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
