    Debian Base install

So I did a base install, knowing I wouldn't have many programs, I wanted to install my own. Well, I was expecting a gui package manager, or at least and archive uitiliy with a gui. What programs do I need to install to at least get started. I read a help thing linked to from Debian's site, it told me to install wajig, but apt-get won't install that.

None of GUI application will work without X Server. Did you install X Server?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
