damn small linux on this machine
hi all!
i have a pretty old amd k6 machine that i want to revive, and i want it to run really well. it's not used too much, but damn small linux would be great.
the only questions i have is:
does it have synaptics package manager (like the one in ubunut)? if not, how do i get it?
with that, can i install normal programs like abiword or open office?
thx!

Synaptic used to be available from the Debian repo, so I'm guessing it still is.
You can probably install it with something like:
Yes, you should also be able to install abiword, or openoffice.Code:apt-get install synaptic

If I recall correctly you can either get synaptic or use the MYDSL that built in. It's basically like Synaptic, you can just click on the programs you want and it'll install them automatically for you.
Question: what are the specs of your old amd machine?
