How to install/use wireless card ??

Hi,

I am a newbie to linux. I was able to set up my network+internet using the network card/cable. I have a motorola (WN825G) wireless card. For my current laptop when I was using windows it got automatically detected, got powered up and worked fine.

Now for linux, I dont see it even powering up. I assume I have to install drivers + some magic stuff.

Can anyone shed some light on what I have to be doing to set up my wireless card ?

Can you post the output of iwconfig and lspci -v? Run as root

You are using a broadcom chipset, that means you have to install ndiswrapper and use windows drivers. Here you can find good documentation. Right now I am setting up a broadcom wireless in my pc Post if any questions/problems

Cool, I will try and let you know. By the way, is it possible to install ndiswrapper using apt-get ? What would be a complete command line for it with dependencies ?

Unfortunately I don't know, I always compile ndiswrapper from source.

no. That did not help. I even installed the widows motorola driver using NDISwrapper. Still no.

In the network connection I normally see both etho(wired connection) and eth1(wireless connection). By enabling it, it says enables but there is no connection and even the power and link lights on the wireless card are not powered on or blinking either !!!

Any ideas plzz ?
