    I want to migrate users from one Linux System to another.

    Do just need the file /etc/groups and /etc/passwd?

    copying just those 2 files should do the trick

    Ah, wouldn't you also have to copy /etc/shadow?

    Thats correct.

    I thought the original poster said /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow, but said /etc/groups instead.

    Copy all three
