wireless help

dear friends. i have installed debian 4 on my laptop. but wireless network is not working. i have downloaded ipw3945 and when i was trying to install by giving make command it gave error that ieee80211 installation is required. when i tried to install ieee80211 it gave the following error.

so i m unable to install ieee80211 component now.. plz help me..

I installed my intel wireless (not the same one) by extracting the firmware into /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware
and then rebooting

Because the wireless extensions should already be built into the kernel for etch.

Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Driver for Linux

get that and extract like above

after rebooting see if you have wireless.
